Getting involved at Seneca Valley is a fantastic way to not only improve connections with your peers but to gain valuable experiences that will stick with you your entire life. One such way to get involved if you’re in grades 9-12 is by joining FCCLA, or “Family Career Community Leaders of America.” FCCLA, as its name implies, focuses on building three distinct aspects of leadership, those being within your family, your career and your community.
FCCLA is more than a school club; it is a nationally-recognized organization with over 244,000 affiliated members across the country. Aside from expanding upon the innate leadership within all its members, FCCLA builds general life skills—event organization, time management and forming a dynamic professional network, just to name a few.
Part of FCCLA’s appeal is that it is run by the students, members and officers alike. Mrs. Ehrenberger, the representative for FCCLA, may step in for assistance in direction every once in a while but still primarily allows it to be a student-run organization. Most of, if not all events scheduled and operated by FCCLA, both inside and outside of school, are done so by its members.
If you’re interested in becoming a better leader in your day-to-day and professional lives, contact Mrs. Ehrenberger for more information on FCCLA today!
