The Seneca Valley Boys Basketball team moved on to the playoffs after beating both Pine-Richland and North Allegheny.

During the game against Pine, the Raiders were losing 23-5 in the first half. They gradually picked up throughout the game, but Coach Victor Giannotta got a technical foul and was benched for the match. The Raiders closed out the game to win by a score of 63-61.

The game against North Allegheny was the last home game for the boys, and a very important one too. The team that won the game was going to the playoffs, so both teams played very good defense, but the Raiders pulled through with a 39-32 victory.

Two Senior Raiders, Josh Rupert and Dalton Peffer, agree that they wished they were in a better spot for playoffs and thought they should have won section games.

“We should have won 2 or 3 section games that we lost such as both Central Catholic games where we choked at the end” Rupert said. This would have put them in a much easier spot for the playoffs.

“I hope everyone plays for one another and goes out and gives 110%” Peffer said. The boys were in good shape for playoffs as they beat NA and got to continue their senior basketball season.

Unfortunately, the boys ended up losing against Canon-McMillan, which ended the season earlier than expected. They ended with an overall record of 14-9, as well as finishing 74th in the state of Pennsylvania.
