The 2023-2024 SV girls basketball season started at home on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Last year, during the 2022-2023 season, the girls had a record of 5-14 which is something they want to improve upon this year. They are excited to kick off the new season and have worked hard on and off the court preparing for tipoff. With high hopes, they are ready to take on whatever odds they face.

On the weekend of Oct. 2, they played in a tournament to start off the regular season. After a few games, senior Kaydence Kilhof said, “I believe we played well and fought hard.”

With a vision for success, the seniors are looking forward to leading the way for underclassmen. Kilhof says, “I want to be a leader for the underclassmen to look up to.”

The team played against Fox Chapel for their season’s home opener. They won the game with a final score of 70-61.

The girls are in a highly competitive section but with high hopes they have worked to build a stronger team and be the best players they can be.
