1- What is your biggest fear about life after high school?
Being away from my family, having to pay my own bills, having my own apartment, and adult things in general.
2- Do you have any expectations for college life? Where did those expectations come from?
I expect to learn a lot of independence, and be more mature. Not living with my parents will help me to develop those skills. Those expectations came from all my experiences and of who I want to be as an adult.
3- How do you feel knowing that you have only around a hundred days left in school?
I’m kind of excited and sad at the same time because this has been my whole life for years.
I going to miss my friends so much but all the pressure will dissipate.
4- Where are you applying to and how did you discover those places?
I’m applying to the University of New Hampshire, Penn State, James Madison, and the University of Maryland. A lot of my family attended Penn State and I lived in New Hampshire so it would be nice to be able to go back to live there.
5-What do you plan on majoring in and why?
It depends on the college I get in. Homeland security at UNH or criminology at Penn State.
6-Do you plan on joining any clubs or organizations in college? If yes, which ones and why? If not, why not?
I might enjoy being in a dance club, but I don’t know. The reason is that I used to be a dancer.
7- Do you feel prepared academically to start college? And what did you do to prepare yourself for it?
I do think I’m prepared because I know I can do it. It will be scary, but everyone needs to go through this. To get myself prepared, I got my GPA higher, improved my grades, did a lot of clubs, and worked on sports.
8- Are you commuting or living on campus? Why?
I’m going to live on the campus mostly because I want to meet new people inside the university, and also because of money.
9- How do you feel about having a roommate?
I hope I can find a good one. I want someone who I can connect with and become friends. I don’t feel nervous but also, I don’t want to get frustrated if I don’t get a good one.
10- Tell me something that you think you are going to miss when you go to college.
I will definitely miss being able to go over to my friend’s house because we will be separated.
11 (Bonus!) – Are you planning a senior trip?
Yes, I’m not sure yet, but I am planning to go to Ocean City or somewhere in Florida with my friends.
