The leaves are turning, the weather is cooling down, and we all know that means our fall wardrobes are making their yearly appearance. This year there are a lot of autumnal fashion trends to spice up your closet.
The obvious reoccurring themes are browns and reds. Try incorporating darker, moodier colors to amplify your look and blend in with the sultry atmosphere of fall. A lot of lace is seen this year whether it be a flourish on the end of a skirt, or a top made of only lace. Long black and brown boots are very in, paired with ankle-length maxi skirts, for an extended silhouette. Flashy boots, like chrome and gold, make a bold appearance while paired with slouchy coats and monotone pants, making them the statement piece of the outfit. A lot of oversized coats with form-fitting under-clothes are seen this year, displaying a classy and comfortable look.
I interviewed Alex Davison, senior, who in my opinion, is our local fashion connoisseur. He aspires to model on the runway and is in the know on topics of fashion, new and old. Davison says, “The biggest trend in my opinion, and what I’ve seen just from living in Cranberry, are plaids and cardigans, which kind of mesh together in a blur.” Most casual wear isn’t the most fashionable thing, but it still brings that fall feel. He goes on to say, “The worst trend would have to be using monotone colors to try and achieve a ‘fall look.’ Don’t be shy of colors; they add an extra pop.” Davison’s recommendation if you want to splurge on a forever fall staple is a Burberry trench. “Favorite fall piece would have to be the iconic Burberry trench. You just can’t go wrong with it,” he said.
Don’t stress about what to wear this fall! Do what you are comfortable with, but if you are looking for something new, keep these tips in your back pocket. Have a fashionable fall!
