There’s no doubt that one of the best experiences in high school is Homecoming! Whether you enjoy checking out booths, cheering in the student section, or busting a move on the dance floor, it’s a fun event that brings everyone together.
Seneca’s Homecoming football game took place on Sept. 20, where the Raiders faced off against the Moon Area Tigers. Unfortunately, the Raiders lost 42-13. Both teams struggled in the first half, with numerous penalties, fumbles, and incomplete passes. For fans on either side, it was a tough game to watch, but the energy in the stands remained high.
Beyond the game, the IHS and SHS Homecoming dances were a massive success, especially for sophomore, Andrew Palano, who attended his very first one. “I can’t believe how amazing it was!” he exclaimed, still buzzing with excitement. “The decorations were so cool and really set the mood for the night!”
The Homecoming parade matched the lively spirit of the week, featuring the Homecoming King and Queen, Rohin Jayaramen and Keira Colella. The floats were impressive and added to the overall atmosphere. Senior, AJ Barnett, reflected on his last year riding the swim float. “This year was special,” he said. “Riding the float was a blast! It’s all about the friendships and memories we made.” He cherished waving to the cheering crowd, adding, “I’ll really miss this tradition and all the laughs. Homecoming has been one of the best parts of high school!”
All-in-all, this year’s Homecoming was a tremendous success! Despite the football game’s outcome, the spirit and excitement of the week united everyone, reminding us all of the joy and camaraderie that high school brings.
