Every student is juggling something. Alexa Hudak is one of those students at Seneca Valley High School.
Hudak’s daily life consists of going to the gym every weekday after school. She plays volleyball mostly Wednesday and Thursday, though it’s not an official team. She normally plays back row positions.
Adding to her plate she has recently gotten a new job which she’ll work at two days a week. Hudak comments, “My everyday life is either very bland or very busy. I do get overwhelmed a lot, yes. I’m not used to having a busy schedule, but I think I’m doing well. And though motivation is hard, I know it’s what I need to do to be happy.”
Most of Hudak’s free time is available after her activities during the week. Though it’s later at night, she spends it playing games and hanging with her cat, occasionally doing traditional and digital drawing. Due to Hudak’s schedule, hanging out with friends can be scarce. “Last time I hung out was a few weeks ago. Me and two other friends went to McDonalds and meadows then we hung out and watched the new Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. It was fun, and I enjoyed it,” Hudak explained.
Hudak’s favorite part of her week is the weekends. When she’s not working, she gets to relax and sleep. Though many students will come to think of her schedule as being a bit much or stressful, Hudak states, “I think my schedule is very efficient right now. I want to stay active and still have some free time.”
During this time of your life in high school, the future is what these students are stressing about. Remember, you have your whole life to work and stress. The time to relax and have fun is now; take advantage of it.
